Where do i start?
Whether you have just started brainstorming the components of your project or whether you are in the middle of executing a project with your students, if you are thinking about the display of your students' works and don't know where to start, you've come to the right place.
Protocol for Student Work Display at HTHNC:
- Schedule an appointment to check-in with one of our art teachers and Lead Curator, Shani Leader. Please have answers to the following questions ready prior to your meeting with Shani: 1. What is the final product? 2. What space are you considering to display this final product? 3. How will you do this? (Plan of attack) Be sure to have an open-mind as well.
- With your (possibly revised) curation proposal, schedule an appointment to check-in with our director, Isaac Jones.
- If necessary, schedule an appointment to check-in with Facilities. Isaac and/or Shani will let you know if this step is necessary. Please email our Office Manager, Sheila Van Metre to contact our Facilities Crew.
- Place a "Curation in Progress" sign in the space you have decided to display the project.
- Work on the "Project Description" using the template. This description will explain to audience members what the project was, what they are looking at, etc. This can go up as soon as it is ready.
- Once the products are complete, start putting up the work. Empower students to help.
